where do i find bark control for multiple dogs without using collars ?
needed for outdoor use on fence lines.
You have two major categories of solutions: management and training.
Management is faster, but more expensive (typically), including a fence inside your existing fence to provide more distance, thus less stimulation, hopefully decreasing barking. Or building a large kennel/run inside your backyard. Or take them with you (I used to take my four dogs, 60-100 pounds in size, in my minivan to work and go walk them on breaks and at lunch). Is this a problem with a neighbor or their dog? Maybe you could work something out with them so that your dogs aren't 'fence-fighting'. Or take your dogs to day care.
Training, whilst probably cheaper in terms of dollars, will take a lot more of your time. Teaching a dog not to bark (or to bark less), though challenging, is not impossible. Start by teaching them to bark on cue. Once you've got that part down, you can much more easily teach it's opposite: quiet. You can also teach your dogs to moderate their vocalizations by teaching them to 'whisper', rewarding them for eliciting a soft woof or chuff. You could also possibly train them to stay inside while you are gone, and even have a reliable neighbor stop by and let them out during the day for a potty break, if you are unable to.
