Why is my cat acting like that?
My cat has gained a lot of weight and has been sleeping a lot more. She is only about 1 year old. But we did get her spayed and I am wondering if that is why she is getting fatter and lazier. She still plays with the cat toys she also doesn't like to be held (she never has though) She got spayed about 2 months ago
Well she used to be really active (I left that out) she gained about 3 pounds too
what is her diet like? Do you feed her on a schedule or does she "graze" all day? If she is a grazer, you could put her on a schedule. What type of food is she on? maybe you could try one for weight control. How active is she? She may "play around with toys" but maybe you could try to get her more active by getting her a playmate(if that's an option). A playmate will keep her on her toes.
Doesn't sound like her behavior as far as affection has changed much, so I wouldn't worry with that. Just love on her as much as you can and try to get her more active and watch her feeding habits. You don't want her to develop diabetes later in life. Good luck!

Is Your Cat An Organic Cat?
There are a lot of great reasons to support organic products from foods to other goods like cotton. Many people are incorporating organics into their daily life whether they buy strictly organic or at least partially.
But can your kitty be an organic cat? Because there is an increasing demand for these types of products we are seeing more and more of them as time goes on. So it is becoming easier to have an organic cat.
Right now one of the main things you can do is buy organic cat food and cat treats. You can find it in both dry kibble or canned food. Because it is grown without the use of chemicals it is the best choice for the environment, but it is also a good choice for the health of your cat. Organic cat foods usually aren't filled with artificial additives and preservatives the way many commercial brands are. Organic cat food companies are generally more conscientious about what they put in their pet food.
But organic cat food isn't the only thing you can buy for your organic cat. You can easily find organic cat toys, many of which are filled with organic catnip. It's not that hard to grow your own catnip or you can buy dried organic catnip. If your cat likes to eat greens you can find organic cat grass. That's always a big hit in my household; our kitties love their greens.
You can also buy an organic cat bed or bedding. There are many nice options available in a variety of sizes, styles, shapes and colors. Many of them are made out of hemp, making them even more eco-friendly, or cotton. They are washable, some mildew resistant and many hypoallergenic as pets can be allergic to synthetic materials just like some of us humans.
