marshall ferret without dots?
I got 2 marshall ferrets from out petstore recently, and they were older and litter trained. but only my albino has the dots, does that mean my sable (both females) was not spayed? I checked her feet, but still no dots, should I schedual a spay?
"Red", sparying is necessary. If not bred, she will doe from being in heat too long, ferrets do not go out of heat unless bred.

The lady said they are marshall ferrets, and one has the dots on her right ear.
Ok, I called. One is from marshalls and the other from F & F farms? F & F something, I think farms.... So she is spayed! and hopefully decented, I am going to google their web and see if they decent as well...
It is really hard to say. Why do you think that the ferrets are from Marshalls?.Do you have paper work that identifies her from Marshalls?
Marshall's site says they usually tatto on the ears for spaying and neutering and the toes to identify the surgeon, but they do not say they always do this. Most of the ferrets I get in as rescues are Marshalls but on some the tattoo is vrey light and hard to see both. They are all neutered because I have not had one in heat, just Adrenal. I do have a really nice female with no tattoo, suspect a private breeder. Sorry. I would not schedule a spay but I would schedule a vet visit for general wellness and ask your vet what they want to do.
I don't know any other way to tell if she has been neutered except to wait for breeding season or for her to show signs of her heat cycle.

Edit: Thanks - If the person you purchased the ferrets from states they are from Marshall's, then you can comfortably assume the ferret has been treated just like all their ferrets and she has been spayed. Cross your fingers that it is done and she won't have to go through the sugery.

A baby ferret is cute and also lot of fun. However, it needs a lot of attention too. From keeping the cage clean to ensuring that they receives its shots regularly, there are a whole lot of chores dedicated to them to keep them healthy and playful. However, this does not deter people from owning them as the cute little pets are worth the trouble.
Marshall Ferrets are among the more popular ones picked up at stores. The ferrets usually cost around $140 to $150. By general practice, they are available in shops would have already received their first shots. Many pet shops also have added discounts on all ferret items if you buy one. This could include cages, hammocks, playing items, beddings, feeding items etc. Some people prefer to buy a baby ones directly from the breeder as they are available for cheaper prices.
