Dog Shock collar effectiveness Vs. training? ?
I have a Little mutt Female, she's super active and not spaded.
I love her to death but.
She barks/yaps constantly:
When she gets locked in a room,
left at home,
left alone,
at other dogs,
and pretty much when she's separated from people/dogs (example if she sleeps in my room w/me and the door shut and in the morning someone gets up and walks down the hall she barks for them, or if she can hear another dog)
Honestly this behavior is driving me insane, she requires constant attention above the tons of attention i already give her. I seriously spend close to 10-12 hours a day with her. She also gets separation anxiety, so when I'm not home she tears up things with only my scent on it.
I was looking into Bark collars with shock, but i want to know the effectiveness before in inhumanely train my dog. Also how do i get her to not scratch doors when i leave her in a room?
Also how do i get her to calm down?
We tried the crate and the spike training collar. (the spikes go against the dogs neck when tugged the dog will stop) We still had problems with his behavior of trying to bite other family and friends. The thought of using a shock collar made me feel sick to the stomach. We did it though...and the results after one week was a miracle. We can let him in the house when we have guest now!!! It really works!

Shock Training Collars Guide
Using an electronic training device like a shock training collar to your dog is relatively easy and safe if you completely understand the basic guidelines of using it.
For a lot of dog owners, the mere mentioning of an electronic collar to train their dog is intolerable. On the other hand, the idea of a shock training collar is in fact founded on humane dog training. The exploit of this training device for cruelty purposes completely depends on the trainers and their intentions.
This type of training collar works through allowing the handler or trainer to give his dog very small, electric shock using a hand held remote. Of course this is with the intention to modify bad dog behavior.
The intensity level of the electricity is totally controlled by the trainer. However, it is best that the initial shock be set at a level that makes the dogs ears jerk in response. If the pet reacts by barking then the setting is most probably too high and must be adjusted consequently.
