at what age can a baby start to sleep with a blanket safely?
My son is a year old. I think it would provide him comfort and maybe he would sleep better. I have also used the sleep sacks.
The current recommendation is for babies under 12 months to sleep without any blankets. However, I think most parents probably use blankets before than. I am a licensed child care provider in my home. I have to follow the Safe Sleep recommendations for my daycare children. I am not allowed to use a blanket on any child who is under 12 months. Since your son is a year old it is fine to allow him a blanket if you want. Many toddlers won't stay covered anyway, but there are a few who find comfort in a particular blanket.

Merino and Sleep Sack for Baby Is a Winning Combination
Many concerns come to the mind of a newborns parent. One of the largest concerns on any new parents mind is the comfort of their child when they return home from the hospital. The most important time to make sure that your child is comfortable and warm is during the night hours when the parents are sleeping and therefore can’t keep a constant watch on the baby.
