need help with mice in a big house !!?
I have mice (o a mouse) in the house..I see it in the corner of my eye sometimes an/or it runs past me. Now im not sure is their is only one or more because it seems to stay in one area ...my kitchen. Now, ive set mouse traps all over my kitchen and then some (like my living room, 5 bedrroms, and 6 washrooms), but still cant seem to catch them. Ive also spread some mouse pellets around key locations, like under fridges, pantry, under stoves under sofa, bed...etc, but still no luck. I ve also used stickey mats at the same key locations and still no luck. These mice (or mouse) are really smart. Im guessing their is only one mouse since its so hard to get it. Plus my house is really big, meaning the mouse could get lost, and eventually find a partner and mate.
Seems like you've already done a great job in setting things up to eliminate them. Usually there is more than one but they can be really distructive if not caught right from the beginning. Remember one thing ..they like to travel along the baseboards of the house. I guess it helps guide them and they learn to travel the same path each night in the dark. Thought they do come out in daylight, they more often come out at night to look for food. So set your traps along their path for the best results and check them all each day. I would be really careful with the poison pellets because just as they are deadly for mice, they are equally deadly for pets and children. So don't put down the poison unless you are positive no pets or children could get to it. Another thing to remember is that they will go somewhere to die when poisoned, usually in the wall or under something where it's difficult to find them. They will smell really bad. The other thing is if you have cats or there are cats in your yard, once a mouse is poisoned it takes days to die and sometimes they will stagger around and are easy prey for a cat. If the cat ingests the poisoned mouse, the cat can be poisoned from that. So bottom line, just double check your placement or remove poison if unsure anyone or anything will be affected.
